Extremely well made and crafted box with a single drawer, perfect for your desktop, as a jewelry box, to hold pens and pencils, your phone, as a bedside companion, or more. Thick slabs, about 1.25 inches wide, and gorgeous joinery. No flaws whatsoever!
Definitely vintage, likely made in the 1970's, as per the provenance. Very hard to find things made like this these days, unless of course you talk to your local artisan or crafts person.
Unsure exactly what kind of wood it is, but likely Cherry Wood. I tested this and there doesn't seem to be a stain. The drawer insert is a different kind of wood, but all signs indicate it is also actual wood from a tree as well.
